The DAM Cafe & Deli opened in May 2007 owned and operated by Chef Jeff and Jeanne Schlosser. Jeanne, an elementary school teacher, was retiring the following year, and Jeff answered the oft-heard question, “When are you going to open your own place?”
Trained at the Culinary Institute of America, Jeff stayed on after graduation to teach and manage one of the on-site restaurants. When he moved on, his path took him to the Depuy Canal House in High Falls where he worked with owner John Novi for several years. Thereafter, his experience evolved in a variety of other local, area restaurants.
The Dam Cafe & Deli provides the customary delicatessen choice of meats and cheeses. In addition, Chef Jeff’s abilities and desire to cook inspire a variety of foods that include his soups, salads, vegetarian options and daily specials. Catering is available for personal celebrations, social or corporate events.
Chef Jeff’s creative flair enhances his artful presentation of food, while his knowledge and skill provides non-traditional fare in an upscale deli setting.
